Like most average people, I stumble through this world. It’s a journey consisting of long stretches of ‘blah’ with the occasional moment of ‘wow’ that makes it all worthwhile. Sometimes, embracing the insanity and learning to laugh in spite of the chaos is the only thing that keeps me going.

I’m an observer…never really noticed…seldom making waves. It works for me. Some people are destined to change the world…I am not one of those people.

There are probably a million and one reasons that I shouldn’t be so content in this world. After all, my life has been as tough, if not tougher, than anyone else that you might meet.   Some of my experiences would, and probably should, be enough to make me wary of this world in which we live…except for one thing….LOVE.

Love is dependable. It is always there. There are times when we might have to look a bit harder to find it, but it is ALWAYS there. Even when we think that we’ve had enough of the trials of life…it waits for us and seeks us out. It is quite possibly the most amazing part about being human. It is the one thing that keeps me going.

In spite of everything….I love….

I love the smell of dew on the grass before the sun comes up…

I love the sound of my children laughing…

I love the smell of a salty shore…and the feel of the sun on my head…

I love the sight of birds soaring above me…

…and the feel of my Dad’s arms when he hugs me

…and the way that my Mom says ‘I love you’…

…and my Grandma’s smile…

…and my sisters….

…and even my ‘baby’ brother…

It really is just that simple…
